This tour offers the chance to visit one of three local wineries (or two if you choose) giving you the opportunity to taste our fine South East of England, award winning wines. Enjoy an extensive 2 hour tasting experience with a full cheese board at an exclusive 'Dover Tours', discounted rate (also including discounts on purchases) at Terlingham, or just visit and opt for a tour and tasting experience.
This tour can also be structured to visit other local points of interest and beauty. The White Cliffs of Dover, Samphire Hoe, The Battle of Britain Memorial and the Hawkinge Spitfire Museum are all close by. So before or after sampling wine in the beautiful surroundings overlooking the rolling hills towards Folkestone and the English Channel, there's plenty of unmissable local attractions.
This is the bigger of the wineries available to visit. Set on the South and Westerly facing slopes, high above Folkestone, these grapes benefit for an excellent sunny location with a spectacular view.
This winery is a family run business creating excellent, award winning white, red, rose and sparkling, wines. They also produce a highly acclaimed gin. All of which can be sampled along with an extensive cheese board. Visiting this winery with Dover Tours means you can take advantage of a %15 reduction on the purchase price of the wine and cheese experience (purchased separately to the tour itself) and also a %10 reduction on purchases while on your visit. Tasting sessions are limited to 22 people and although Dover Tours travellers 'can' be included at short notice. In general, a period of notice is required to ensure that I can book you in on the day of your choosing. Visits to this Winery are available at 11am and then 2pm timeslots typically on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The Saturday can be particularly popular so, the more notice the better.
This is a small, family run vineyard set at the foot of the North Downs Way (a historic route of pilgrimage), not too far from Terlingham and again benefiting from a sunny and sheltered, Westerly aspect, who produce two sparkling wines and one still, mainly from the Pinot Noir grape but with a few rows of Chardonnay. A small selection of light snacks to compliment the tastings is also provided. Available for tours on days other than Fridays and with some limited availability on Mondays a relaxing visits to the Vineyard can be arranged by myself, at short notice. A glass of bubbly upon arrival, a guided look around and a relaxing rest in the beautiful, country surroundings, in the company of ducks, will provide you with an unforgettable British, countryside, wine-tasting experience to remember. This vineyard and wine-tasting experience is £15 payable upon arrival and last about an hour.
Again, this is a family run business. Smaller than Terlingham but established for 30years so they are expertly skilled in their craft. This vineyard and winery is set in the English village countryside between Dover and Canterbury.
Tastings and tours of the vineyard are available throughout the week from 10am-5pm from May to sept and from 10am-4pm the rest of the year although they are closed on Wednesdays.the week. This winery tour and tasting also has a £15 charge and included a glass of sparkling wine upon arrival, a tour of the Winery/vineyard and further sampling of 3 more wines.
Due to the location and proximity, if we visit Barnsole, a trip to Canterbury is available. Combined with this and depending on time, points of interest back towards Dover can also be visited either before or after wine tasting.
Due to the location of the Terlingham and Brabourne vineyards we will be left with much more time remaining available to us in and around Dover. Samphire Hoe, Cliff top paths, The Battle of Britain memorial and/or the Hawkinge Spitfire Museum can be visited either before or after vineyard tours and tastings.
Dover Tours will not be held liable for risks that travellers expose them-selves to at any point but specifically not after the consumption of alcohol. Due to the nature of this tour, alcohol is consumed at the traveller's own risk. Activities engaged in after the consumption of alcohol are done so at the traveller's own risk.
Collection can be from a location of your choosing. The tour can conclude at a point of your choosing too providing it is no further than the point from which you were collected at the start of the day although this can be offered for an additional charge.
Perhaps you would choose to finish your day at one of the stops and make the most of your time outside of the tour arrangements. This is fine too.
